After its success in Sydney, Joanna Murray-Smith’s witty two-hander opens in Brisbane. Directed by Paige Rattray, the play fictionalises the final years of crime writer Patricia Highsmith who retired to her Switzerland home.
Surrounded by her books, antique weapons and calm, Highsmith (played by Andrea Moor) has withdrawn from the world. She’s disrupted when a young emissary from her publisher (Matthew Backer) shows up, set on convincing her to write another book. The pair battle it out as Highsmith recalls her past creations.
