Swiss billionaire's superyacht docked in Liverpool

It's not every day you see a £60m superyacht docked at Liverpool's Princes Parade.

The custom-made Vive La Vie has been attracting plenty of attention from locals and visitors during its brief stopover.

Before making its way along the North Wales coast to Liverpool, the luxury motor yacht had been moored off Anglesey after originally sailing up from Gibraltar.

The Vive La Vie is believed to be owned by 72-year-old Willy Michel, a Swiss entrepreneur who set up pharmaceutical company Ypsomed Selfcare Solutions and is estimated to be worth $1.5bn. He lives in an 18th-century Swiss castle.

These are the cruise ships visiting Liverpool for the FIRST time in 2019

The 1,277-tonne pleasure craft features a master suite and VIP stateroom, and can accommodate 12 guests in its six cabins.

It also has a Jacuzzi, gym and dining room, where the dining table can be raised to the ceiling to make room for a dance floor.

Photographers have been getting some fantastic pictures of the boat since it moored.

Now a video tour of the luxurious interior of the vessel is available here.

The yacht, which is registered in the Cayman Islands, was made in 2008 by German shipbuilder Lurssen, and designed exactly to the specifications of Michel.

Vive La Vie has a top speed of 15.5 knots and a maximum range of 7,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
