Swimming fans across Mid Ulster will able to take a dunk in their local council leisure centre from today.
Customers will have to be 'pool ready' when they arrive, while there is a reduction in the number of people who will be able to swim at any one time with booking essential for 60 minute slots.
Gaps of 30mins will be in place between each session to allow for cleaning.
Mid Ulster District Council announced this morning that they are now taking bookings for pool swims in Cookstown, Dungannon and Magherafelt Greenvale Leisure centres.
A brand new online booking system has been launched to help customers get pool time with the confidence that a range of measures are in place to meet social distancing requirements, as well as enhanced cleaning and hygiene standards.
Council chair Cathal Mallaghan visited Cookstown Leisure Centre to see how the new procedures will work.
He said: "The development of an online booking system for the re-opening of pools is not only a convenient and effective way for customers to book into a swimming session, but also gives them the confidence of knowing that numbers are being managed to ensure the pool is never beyond capacity and that time is being built in for additional cleaning.
"While we know that the new arrangements, like being 'swim-ready' on arrival, are different to what customers are used to, our staff are on hand to help guide customers and ensure the experience of being back in the water is as enjoyable as before."
