Swimming missing at NSW, Vic border

Police and SES crews have suspended their search for a swimmer who went missing in the Murray River. (AAP)

A swimmer has disappeared in the Murray River on the border of NSW and Victoria.

The 28-year-old foreign national disappeared under the surface at Liparoo around midday on Friday, NSW police said.

Police and SES crews searched for the man without success.

The search has been suspended overnight and is expected to resume at first light on Saturday.
