Australian swimmer Kaylee McKeown, just broke an Olympic record before winning the gold medal in the women's 100-meter backstroke final at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
She also broke the no-swearing rule on national television as she dropped the F-bomb while being interviewed about her big win.
The 20-year-old Aussie, who underwent a tremendously hard year that saw her father pass away from brain cancer in 2020, could not hide the joy overwhelming her at the moment.
In the heartfelt and somewhat unfiltered interview, Kaylee revealed that she was swimming in honour of her late dad.
With strong emotions overpowering her, she finally burst and let a little obscenity slip out as a reporter from Chanel 7 spoke with her.
In a clip from the interview, which has since been shared across social media, the interviewer could be heard asking the athlete : "Your mom Sharon and your sister Taylor are there watching, it’s been such a difficult time for your family.
"What would you like to say to your mom and your sister for now?"
To which the gold medal-winner had a simple and straight-to-the-point answer: "F*** yeah!”
She then went on to quickly cover her mask-wearing mouth, realising her blunder, before whooping and laughing along with the reporter who could not contain his own amusement.
They added that they would have to bleep out her response shortly after.
Many people reacted in support of the athlete as one tweeted: "How honest and natural, she's a Champion."
Another person took to Twitter to say: "Why not, just to show that she’s just a regular human after all, f*** yeah!"
Kaylee’s incredible achievement came as a bittersweet moment, seeing as her father did not have the chance to see her swim at the Tokyo Games, due to being postponed a year later as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
But she hopes that she's done him proud and can keep on doing that in future.
