Swim coach Scott Volkers charged with indecent treatment of a child

Swim coach Scott Volkers has been charged with five counts of indecent treatment of a child.

Police arrested the 59-year-old on Friday morning.

He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court next month.

His lawyer has declined to comment.

Mr Volkers coached Australian stars Susie O'Neill and Samantha Riley.

He was employed by Swimming Australia and Swimming Queensland until 2010.
