Lucy Mazzotta has attended every tour that Taylor Swift has taken Down Under.

The Brisbane-based teacher and three of her friends arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday morning, heading straight to the Melbourne Cricket Ground to get their hands on early merch.

The group spent $450 on hoodies, T-shirts and a water bottle on top of their flights and accommodation before Swift's concert on Friday.

The Eras Tour will be Swift's sixth time touring Australia.

"It's a once in a lifetime event, and it's only money," Ms Mazzotta said.

"I didn't have anyone there to restrain me ... so I got all of it."

She was among hundreds of Swifties who queued at the official merchandise stalls outside the stadium to fill their bags with limited-edition hoodies, T-shirts, vinyl records, and friendship bracelets of the type that sparked a global trend among fans.

Crowds equivalent to three AFL grand finals are expected across Swift's Friday, Saturday and Sunday concerts.

Additional train and tram services will run across the three days, with the free tram zone extended out to the MCG.

Piper Burgess, 12, and her mother Jess Burgess from Port Macquarie spent $790 to bag five jumpers, four tops and a tapestry.

"It's my life savings," joked Jess Burgess, who reassured AAP that not all of the merchandise was for the two of them.

They bought VIP tickets in June 2023, immediately booking flights and accommodation while starting to save for the trip down to Melbourne.

"We've known for a long time we were coming so we've put money aside so that we could do what we wanted while we were here," she said.

The MCG merchandise pre-sale stalls will run from February 14-15.

Fans can also buy merchandise on all three concert days from external merch stands outside the venue, operating from 12pm.
