Sweet tribute to 'Queen of Love Island' Caroline Flack as the new series gets underway

As Love Island 2021 launched on Monday night with a new batch of singletons hoping to find love fans remembered the show's late host Caroline Flack.

The star, who died at the age of 40 last February after taking her own life, had become synonymous with the ITV2 dating show.

Caroline presented Love Island from 2015 until summer 2019 and her friend Laura Whitmore took over the reins for the winter series last January.

At the new series got underway fans paid their respects to Caroline on Twitter.

And her manager Nathan Charles Smith paid a sweet tribute to the popular host as he shared a series of images on his Instagram.

In one Caroline beamed in front of a billboard featuring her face on a Love Island advert on Piccadilly Circus.

He also shared a picture from the filming of one of the show's iconic trailers featuring her as pilot flying the Islanders to Mallorca.

In the snap she sat in a cockpit alongside Nathan who was looking at his pal with a grin.

Nathan also shared a shot of Caroline in pretty lemon print blue dress on the set of the winter Love Island advert which was pulled.

And he wrote: "You’ll always be queen of (Love Island)."

One fan tweeted as the seventh series kicked off: "Moment for Caroline Flack."

"As we begin the new series of #LoveIsland let’s take a minute to remember Caroline Flack, who is so dearly missed," said another.

"Rest in peace Caroline Flack, we all miss you," another tweeted.

Laura, 36, posted a moving message for Caroline Flack ahead of her first summer series as presenter on the ITV2 dating show, saying she hopes to do her friend proud.

Tributes were paid to Caroline on Monday, February 15, to mark one year on since her passing.

Laura, posted an image of herself with Caroline and shared a quote which read: "You've got to laugh a little, cry a little, until the clouds roll by a little."
