Sweet-tooth shoppers excited about Morrisons new Jaffa Cake doughnut

Jaffa Cakes: Are they biscuits or are they cakes? It's an age old question which may have been made a moot point considering a new product for sale at Morrisons.

The supermarket has just launched a brand new sweet treat combining the orange-flavoured favourite with a doughnut.

The item is being sold in stores for £1.50 for a pack of three and social media is already pretty excited by the prospect.

Iced in the supermarket bakeries, the product is a chocolate glazed doughnut with a sweet orange filling, topped off with a whole Jaffa Cake, report The Mirror.

Posting about their new product on Facebook, the supermarket wrote: "What's better than a delicious Jaffa Cake? One with a Jaffa doughnut attached."

Thousands of people commented on the post, with many expressing their desire to try the unusual concoction.

One person even commented how they'd already been out to buy and try the product. They said: "Have to say they taste amazing! Definitely one of the best doughnuts I've ever had. I'll be buying more for sure!"

Someone else said: "I love them."

However some eager beavers were left disappointed, claiming their local branch didn't have any of them when they went to buy some.

"None in the Horndean store," wrote a different user. "This advert is pure evil! Morrisons, have a word with yourself."

A second added: "Killingworth Store never has what you want in bakery section, no almond doughnuts, no onion bagels or stollen scones today and I looked everywhere and didn’t see those doughnuts either!

This tasty looking treat comes hot on the heels of news of Morrisons white chocolate hazelnut spread.

The sweet condiment has already been a hit on social media, with instagram user @frukgram commenting "Hold the phone. @morrisons dropping WHITE CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SPREAD’" and @newfoodsuk adding that it tastes like "the inside of a Kinder Bueno."

Simon Metcalfe, Chocolate Spread Buyer at Morrisons said: "This is a delicious new flavour and it’s great to see customers enjoying it.”
