July 31--A bakery that specialized in cupcakes closed earlier this month at 7956 W. Lincoln Highway in Frankfort.
The owners of Sweet Dreams Cakes Bakery could not be reached but said in a posting on Facebook they are looking for a new location and are still taking special orders by email at info@sweetdreamscakes-usa.com. They said the new location would be announced on their Facebook page.
The shop was opened in August 2012 by Deon and Vicki O'Bryant, a Tinley Park couple who made a name for their cupcakes by selling them at farmers markets in the south suburbs.
Late last year, the couple turned the bakery over to their three daughters -- Caprice, Gabrielle and Candace.
In March, the sisters announced that they would be changing the bakery's name to Sisters N Sugar Sweet Shoppe, but the closing apparently ended those plans.

Wintrust closes deal for Suburban Bank Trust
Rosemont-based Wintrust Financial Corp. has announced the completion of its acquisition of Suburban Illinois Bancorp, the parent of Suburban Bank Trust.
Suburban's 10 banking locations will operate as branches of Wintrust's Hinsdale Bank Trust Co.
Suburban was formed in 1976 and has branches locally in Chicago's Beverly community, Lemont, Markham, New Lenox and Oak Lawn.
The deal will result in Wintrust closing some branches.
"Several of Wintrust's community banks will have branches that share market areas with the acquired Suburban branches. As a result of those branch overlaps, we expect to combine approximately six branches during the second half of 2015," Edward Wehmer, Wintrust's president and chief executive, said in a news release.
Wintrust is also owns Beverly Bank Trust and Old Plank Trail Community Bank, both of which have locations in the south and southwest suburbs.

Nicky's Drive-Thru closes
Owner Gus Assimakopoulos has closed Nicky's Drive-Thru at 11500 S. Western Ave. because he just couldn't take the daily grind any longer.
He closed the restaurant he opened more than 20 years ago at the end of June so he could get the hip replacement surgery he's needed since a car accident a few years ago.
A second Nicky's restaurant in Berwyn closed in 2007.
