The youth wing of the Swedish Liberal People’s Party reportedly wants to repeal laws that forbid necrophilia and sibling incest.
According to local media reports from the group's annual meeting on Sunday, Liberal Youth of Sweden (LUF) voted in support of a motion to legalise both sexual intercourse between consenting siblings over the age of 15 and some instances of necrophilia.
LUF Stockholm president Cecilia Johnsson referred to counter-incest legislation as “morality law”, telling Swedish news site AftonBladet: “We don’t like morality laws in general, these laws protect no one right now”.
“I understand that [incest] can be considered unusual and disgusting,” she said in comments translated by the Mail Online. “But legislation cannot be based on it being disgusting”.
The LUF voted to support legalisation of sexual acts with a corpse, on the condition that the person consented to this being done to their dead body while they were still alive.
Ms Johnsson reportedly said: “You should get to decide what happens to your body after you die, and if it happens to be that one wants to bequeath his body to the museum or research, or if you want to bequeath to someone to sleep with it then it should be okay.”
It appears the Liberal People’s Party was displeased with its youth wing’s decision, however. Spokesperson Adam Alfredsson told Expressen the proposals were “nothing like the mother party endorses.”
“Incest is and should remain illegal,” Alfredsson said, and added that “We think it will continue to be illegal to use a dead man’s body in [a sexual] way.”
