Sweden have confirmed that Victor Lindelof sustained just a 'minor injury' in Manchester United training.
Lindelof made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting line-up for United's 3-0 win against Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, however, he was a notable omission from the Reds' travelling squad for Tuesday's game versus Atalanta.
"We are looking alright, the training session this morning a couple of little twinges but I don't think there will be anything major," said Solskjaer in his pre-match press conference and Lindelof's omission from the squad suggested that he was one of those players.
Sweden manager Janne Andersson has now confirmed that before also revealing that Lindelof sustained just a 'minor' knock.
"I talked to Victor yesterday. He was not worried. It's a minor injury," Andersson told Fotbollskanalen.
"There we are and then you never know. But he was not worried in that way so that conversation felt good."
Lindelof started alongside Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane in a back three against Tottenham at the weekend, so in his absence, it seems Solskjaer could move Luke Shaw into one of those roles instead with Alex Telles playing at left wing-back.
Lindelof is Sweden's captain and more World Cup qualifiers await later this month.
