Swansea Pride 2019: Start times, line up, how to get there, tickets

Swansea Pride 2019 is nearly here.

Last year, hundreds of people took to the streets of Swansea for the city’s first Spring Pride Event. Here are some of the best pictures from the occasion.

From start times to the line up here's everything you need to know about the 2019 event and pop up events in the week running up to it.

When is Swansea Pride?

The main festival will take place on  Saturday, May 4 from 12pm to 5pm following a parade (more details below) . Organisers say there'll be pop up events in the week running up to the big day as well as post-festival events.

What is it?

Working with Swansea Bay LGBT+ Forum, 2018 saw the return of Pride to Swansea in an event called 'Spring Pride 2018' which comprised a parade and community event at the National Waterfront Museum.

Swansea Pride is now established as a small group of volunteers committed to delivering further events, focusing on the whole LGBT+ community. Organisers say that 2019 will be bigger and better than last year.

Who is performing?

Organisers have managed to secure a big star from American TV show, RuPaul’s Drag Race.

As part of Swansea Pride this year, on  Friday, May 3  , Christine Aguilera impersonator and drag queen Farrah Moan will make an appearance at Fiction on Little Wind Street.

RuPaul’s Drag Race has grown into an international phenomenon - in 2018, it was the most talked-about show on social media, surpassing Game of Thrones and Stranger Things.
