Swansea man riding motorbike 60 miles to Fishguard 'to take photos' stopped and sent home by police

A Swansea man making a 60-mile journey "to take photos" was stopped and turned around by police.

The motorcyclist from Bonymaen had been travelling towards Fishguard when he was halted by police in Penblewin.

Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police were carrying out patrols on Thursday afternoon and stopped multiple vehicles throughout Pembrokeshire.

The force's roads policing unit for the county stopped the motorcyclist on the A40 near Penblewin at around 1pm.

He told officers he had been heading to Fishguard "to take photos".

A tweet shared by the roads policing unit said: "From St Clears we head down the A40 as far as Penblewin.

"It’s just gone 1pm when we start our second stop check operation of the day.

"One motorbike rider, from the Bonymaen area, is reported and turned around.

"He stated his intention was to head to Fishguard to take some photos."

Officers also patrolled areas such as Pembroke Dock, Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth and explained that they appeared quiet.

This comes after the roads policing unit in Pembrokeshire stopped a driver who had travelled 200 miles from Manchester to St Clears in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The driver claimed that he was travelling to Ireland "to collect a dog".

Officers also stopped a vehicle that had travelled from Cardiff to Llanteg at around 1am on Saturday morning, with those inside the car claiming they had made the 90-mile journey "to collect rice from a friend".
