The Swansea head coach, Francesco Guidolin, is out of hospital in London after overcoming a chest infection.

The 60-year-old Italian had fallen ill before the 2-1 defeat by Tottenham on 28 February when he missed two days of training.

He was then absent for the subsequent midweek victory against Arsenal and Saturday’s 1–0 win at home to Norwich. The coach Alan Curtis, who had a six-week spell in charge between Garry Monk’s December departure and Guidolin’s appointment, took over in the interim.

The club said on Twitter: “Francesco Guidolin has been released from hospital after making a good recovery and will resume duties this week.”

Swansea’s next games are away to Bournemouth on Saturday and home to Aston Villa the following weekend.
