Swansea City will get 'sensational' string-puller and 'astute' man if double transfer raid of MK Dons comes off

Swansea City are targeting a double raid on Russell Martin's former club MK Dons this month.

The Swans are eyeing up transfer swoops for goalkeeper Andy Fisher and midfielder Matt O'Riley.

But what exactly would the pair bring to the party should they move to south Wales?

We spoke to Toby Lock, sports editor at the Milton Keynes Citizen, to find out more about Fisher and O'Riley. Here's what he had to say:

What type of qualities do Fisher and O'Riley possess?

Fisher is a clever keeper and astute with his feet, which is an important part of how Dons played under their former boss. A decent shot-stopper, his abilities outside of the box were what made him an important part of Martin-ball at Stadium MK.

O'Riley has become one of Dons' key men this season. A string-puller, brilliant on the ball and under pressure, he has a sensational first touch and an eye for goal as well as providing assists.

Do they have any weaknesses?

Their only 'weaknesses' will be the lack of long-term experience.

Both are young players, and only really have last season under their belts for playing regular football so you could consider them untested.

How big a role did Russell Martin play in their progress at MK Dons?

When Russell Martin started to bring in his style of play last season, one of the first major plays he made was making Fisher his first choice ahead of Lee Nicholls (now starting at Huddersfield). Spotting the keeper 40 yards from goal was not an uncommon sight, but he has been calmed somewhat since Martin left.

O'Riley trained with Dons for several months before signing last January, and he has been a regular ever since. He has called it the "best decision" of his career, making the move.

Though he was impressive last season he was really playing second-fiddle to Scott Fraser.

He has really made a mark on the team this season under Liam Manning and has shown what he is capable of.

How likely is it that either player joins Martin at Swansea?

Money talks! I'm sure Dons fans will want to get a few extra quid out of Swansea considering the significant ill-feeling towards the manager and his team there, but if the prices are right, there will be a breaking point.

What sort of fees do you think they would command?

I think six figures will get Fisher, while fans will be gutted not to get seven figures for O'Riley.
