Swansea City v Stoke City team news and Steve Cooper on the one star he's disappointed for

Steve Cooper admits Swansea City are blessed in the full-back department ahead of Jake Bidwell's return from suspension for the Championship clash with Stoke City.

Summer recruit Bidwell received a straight red card late on in the 0-0 draw with Bristol City at Ashton Gate last month but is available to face the Potters having served his three-game ban.

But the 26-year-old has some fierce competition for his place at present, with Kyle Naughton and Declan John both slotting in at left-back during Bidwell's absence.

And Cooper admits he has something of a selection dilemma on his hands at present.

"We've got four full-backs that can perform at a really good level. Kyle, Connor and Jake have already shown that," said the Swansea head coach.

"Dec not so much but if called upon I know he can plan. Unfortunately after his good performance against Watford and Jake getting suspended he picked up a knock and it ruled him out because he really would have been in contention for the game against Reading and if you do well you keep your place.

"I'm really disappointed for Dec, he's a really good lad and such a good professional. He trains really well every day. It's not that he isn't in my plans which you might assume with the minutes he's had, that isn't the case.

"Sometimes you need certain profiles on the bench. But coming back to the full-back situation I think we're quite blessed."

The Swans are set to be boosted by the return of George Byers for the visit of Nathan Jones' side after he missed the win at Charlton with a minor issue.

Kristoffer Nordfeldt is unavailable after he picked up an illness that also saw him miss out on the matchday squad against Lee Bowyer's side on Wednesday night.

It means Erwin Mulder is once again set to feature on the bench for the Swans.

Aldo Kalulu remains sidelined with an ankle problem.

As for the Potters, they are unable to call upon the services of defender Ryan Shawcross who remains sidelined with a broken leg while Nathan Collins is suspended.

Kick-off at the Liberty Stadium is at 3pm on Saturday.
