Swansea City transfers: Steve Cooper installed as favourite for Fulham job as Newcastle United ponder Arsenal swap for Freddie Woodman

Here's your latest round-up of all the transfers news and gossip from the Liberty Stadium for Tuesday, June 22.

Cooper odds-on for Fulham job

Swansea City boss Steve Cooper is now the bookies favourite to replace Scott Parker at Fulham.

Parker looks set to join fellow Championship side Bournemouth this summer, and the Cottagers have, according to the The Sun, set their sights on the current Swans boss.

It's a development that offers yet another twist in Cooper's future in south Wales.

The Welshman was understood to be firmly in the running for the vacancy at Crystal Palace, but the Eagles now look set to appoint Lucien Favre instead.

However, there could yet be an approach from Fulham soon, with Cooper (Evens) the firm favourite to take over at Craven Cottage with bookmaker Bet Victor, just ahead of Chris Wilder and Eddie Howe, both of whom are currently priced at 8/1.

Peyberenes close to Zaragoza move

Almeria are reportedly ready to terminate the contract of Swansea City-linked Mathieu Peybernes by mutual agreement.

The Swans and Championship rivals Nottingham Forest have both been linked with the Frenchman recently, amid claims that a £2m bid from the Liberty Stadium had been knocked back last year.

But while the defender is set to be come a free agent, it seems Real Zaragoza is set to be his next destination, with Spanish newspaper AS suggesting that an agreement is close.

Steve Bruce faces Freddie Woodman decision

Newcastle United have identified Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock as their number one transfer target this summer.

Willock emerged as a standout performer for the Magpies last season, establishing himself as a firm favourite with fans after scoring in each of his last seven games for the club.

However, with Newcastle unlikely to have much money to spend this summer, they could well look at other ways of meeting Arsenal's valuation.

According to ChronicleLive, one option is to use Freddie Woodman as a makeweight.

Woodman, like Willock, has impressed while out on loan, establishing himself as Swansea's number one during a highly successful loan spell.

Arsenal have previously been credited with an interest in the goalkeeper, who despite his talent is unlikely to break into the first team fold at Newcastle, with Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow currently at the top of the pecking order.

Such a development would torpedo any hopes of Woodman returning to the Swans, who no face a summer of rebuilding after losing to Brentford at Wembley in the Championship play-off final.
