Woodman twist
It looked for all the world that Freddie Woodman would be playing his football away from St James' Park and Newcastle United this season.
He spent the last two campaigns with Swansea City and the club held hopes of bringing him back to south Wales until news emerged that Championship rivals Bournemouth had agreed a season-long loan deal with the Magpies.
However, that move broke down due to Martin Dubravka sustaining a foot injury, and in a proper twist it now appears that 24-year-old Woodman will start for the Toon at the weekend.
Woodman has returned north and is now training with his parent club and could make his first Newcastle appearance for two years.
The Cherries are still hopeful of rekindling the deal, but it will all depend on the severity of Dubravka's injury.
Thomas Henry situation
A rumour that won't go away is Thomas Henry to Swansea talk.
Reports in Belgium are adamant that Swansea are not giving up on this one without a fight, whereas sources at this end are far cooler on their links with the striker.
Certainly, at the €6million price tag quoted, Swansea won't be playing ball.
Spending that amount of money on one player this summer just does not sound plausible.
But the 26-year-old is obviously someone of interest to Cooper and Co.

Hourihane facing Villa Park exit
Our colleagues at BirminghamLive report that "the writing is on the wall" for former Swans loan man Conor Hourihane at Aston Villa Park.
The Republic of Ireland man spent the second half of last season at the Liberty, helping Swansea to the play-off final.
He admitted last month that he would "probably" have to leave the Midlands club this summer for the good of his career.
“Probably so, there's no getting away from that," he said during an Ireland press conference.
"Firstly I have a couple of games with Ireland, then I'll get a bit of downtime, relaxation time as we have had two back-to-back seasons, pretty much relentless for a long period of time.
“Then we'll see what happens with the future after these games. I will be heading back to Villa for pre-season and see where we go from there.”
With manager Dean Smith looking to bring in at least one more midfielder during this window, one suspects that the 30-year-old will be moving on to pastures new.
