Swans target joins Forest
Nottingham Forest have signed Max Lowe on loan from Sheffield United.
The defender emerged as a potential transfer target for Swansea amid Middlesbrough's interest in left-back Jake Bidwell.
However, on Friday, it was confirmed that Lowe had joined Championship rivals Forest on a season-long loan deal.
The Swans are yet to receive an official bid for Bidwell, although Neil Warnock's side have enquired about the 28-year-old.
Bidwell's contract with Swansea expires next summer, although the club have no desire to sell the ex-Everton, Brentford and Queens Park Rangers man unless a significant bid is made.

Scot linked as West Brom eye Molumby swoop
Swansea have been linked with a move for defender Jamie McCart.
Hibernian are firm admirers of the St Johnstone man, but our sister title RecordSport report that the Swans and Championship rivals Bournemouth have kept close tabs on the left-sided player's situation.
Reports also suggest West Brom are keen to sign Jayson Molumby from Brighton.
The Swans monitored the Republic of Ireland international's situation amid Fulham and Watford's interest in club captain Matt Grimes.
However, the Baggies are now favourites to sign Molumby before Tuesday's 11pm transfer deadline.

Preston wary of Piroe threat
Frankie McAvoy admits Preston have paid close attention to Joel Piroe during their preparations for Saturday's clash with Swansea.
Piroe has netted three goals in his four appearances for the club so far this season - with his latest strike earning Russell Martin's men a 1-0 win at Bristol City.
And Preston boss McAvoy says his side are wary of the threats the Dutchman poses, along with those of Tuesday night's hat-trick hero Morgan Whittaker.
"We've watched him and he's decent," the North End boss told LancsLive.
"His goal the other night was excellent, he's big and he's alive on the pitch.
"He adds something to them and there is the boy Whittaker who scored a hat-trick the other night as well.
"And they have got good footballers, but similarly, so have we.
"Swansea look to move the ball and I think they are first in the league for possession at the moment. You can see them taking risks, building from the back, playing through the thirds and they are a joy to watch to be honest.
"We are mindful and respectful of them but at the end of the day we have to look at us first and foremost and see how and where we can hurt them."
Brighton cup date confirmed
Swansea will take on Brighton in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, September 22.
The Swans beat Reading and then Plymouth Argyle to progress in the competition while the Seagulls defeated Cardiff City in round two.
And the pair will meet next month in a fixture that will see Swansea come up against their former boss Graham Potter.
Kick-off will be at 7.30pm.
