Swansea City transfer headlines as James McAtee wanted by Aston Villa and Leicester City as Ntcham and Hull City selection hints emerge

Your Swansea City headlines for Wednesday, January 26.

Ntcham latest

Russell Martin has confirmed Olivier Ntcham will be available for Swansea's Championship clash with Hull City on Saturday.

The Frenchman missed his side's 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night after sustaining a knock to his thigh in the win over Preston North End.

Ntcham was withdrawn at half-time of the 1-0 triumph against the Lilywhites but will return to the squad against the Tigers this weekend.

"He'll be fine for Saturday," said the head coach after the QPR stalemate.

"It was more of a precaution than anything on Saturday. He wasn't quite ready for today."

McAtee attracts further interest

James McAtee is attracting interest from a host of clubs including Leicester City, Brighton and Aston Villa, according to reports.

The Swans have been admirers of the Manchester City youngster for some time and are keen to recruit the 19-year-old on loan.

McAtee would need to sign fresh terms with Pep Guardiola's side before securing a loan exit given that his current deal at The Etihad Stadium expires in 18 months.

And Mail Online report that Swansea's Championship rivals Bournemouth, Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers among those eager to clinch a loan deal for the young English attacker.

Swansea's sporting director Mark Allen has held talks with those at his former club Man City over a potential swoop for McAtee.

The Salford-born star netted the winner for Man City's Under-23s against Chelsea last time out to lift his side to the summit of the Premier League 2 table.

He has made three first team appearances in all competitions for the Citizens so far this term.

Late deals expected

Martin is expecting Swansea's remaining January transfer business to go down to the wire.

The Swans have already brought in Cyrus Christie, Andy Fisher and Hannes Wolf this month.

However, head coach Martin is determined to bring in further recruits before Monday's 11pm deadline.

Ipswich Town's Scott Fraser, Man City's James McAtee, Sunderland's Ross Stewart and MK Dons man Harry Darling are among those to attract interest from the Swans - although a lack of finances will ensure moves for some targets will not happen this month, if at all.

A total of eight players have left the club since the turn of the year, with Jay Fulton, Yan Dhanda and Jamie Paterson among those who could also head through the exit door.

And Martin has said he anticipates a manic 24 to 48 hours at the end of the winter window following his side's clash with Hull City on Saturday.

"The window, it's madness really, I think everyone enjoys the excitement of a deal in the last two or three days," said Martin, when asked if he expected more deals to be concluded by the weekend.

"Things change very quickly. I don't enjoy the last two or three days, I'd much rather it was all done now. It goes into a bit of a frenzy in the last few days and most of the business that happens in January happens then.

"I think we've done really good business already, and, I think, whatever happens, we'll come out of the transfer window stronger than when we started it which is the most important thing."

Martin's Hull hint

Swansea will be without Flynn Downes when they take on Hull this weekend.

The midfielder was sent off in the stalemate with QPR following a collision with striker Charlie Austin in injury time.

Fulton - who has appeared as a substitute in three of his side's last four matches - is among those who could replace Downes at the MKM Stadium.

But head coach Martin has also hinted that Swansea could tweak their shape when it comes to the clash with the Tigers.

"Jay's done great. We have options, it's no problem," he said.

"Flynn's a loss for us because he's been incredible, on and off the pitch.

"Jay has been really good when he's come on in the last couple of games.

"Whether you're in the squad or out of it, whether you're playing or not, you get all of the detail, you don't get left out, you're not training on your own.

"You get every bit of detail and every chance so that when you come into the team, you know what's expected of you and you have clarity in your role. Jay has that, and Jay is a fantastic professional.

"We'll have to see what we go with, we have options. We can maybe change the shape a little bit, but if he has to play there he'll be totally fine."
