Swansea City transfer digest: Nottingham Forest star linked, McBurnie completes Sheffield United move and Birch's transfer pledge

Swansea City have been linked with a move for Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings.

The Swans are desperate to bolster their attacking options ahead of next week's transfer deadline following

And Football Insider claim the Swans are working on a deal to sign 24-year-old forward Cummings from Forest.

The frontman has had three loans spells away from the City Ground since joining the club from Hibernian in 2017, featuring for Rangers, Peterborough United and most recently Luton Town.

He netted nine goals in 34 appearances in all competitions during his loan stints with The Hatters and The Posh last season.

It comes after on Friday, with Chris Wilder's side paying £18m - which could rise to £20m when add-ons are included - to take the Scotland international to Bramall Lane.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Blades.

But it was a case of one out and one in at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea confirmed the capture of versatile winger Kristoffer Peterson from Heracles.

The Sweden international completed his medical at the club's Fairwood training base on Thursday and signed a three-year contract with the Swans, who have the option of extending his deal by one year.

Following the two big deals of the day at SA1, chairman Trevor Birch revealed the Swans are determined to bring in further recruits in the final days of the summer window.

"I can only stress that we will do our utmost to bring in replacements that will further strengthen us and enable us to mount a challenge in the Championship this season – and give you a team and a club to be proud of for many years to come," he said.
