Swansea City transfer digest: Derby linked with Andre Ayew as Bournemouth striker signs

Derby County have been linked with a move for Swansea City striker Andre Ayew.

The Swans remain determined to offload Ayew due to his high wages, and Football Ghana claim the Rams could be interested in taking him to Pride Park.

Derby boss Phillip Cocu worked with Ayew at Fenerbahce last season and is reportedly keen to link up with the 29-year-old in his new role in the Championship.

Ayew still has two years left to run on his current contract with Swansea, and it's understood the club are yet to receive any official bids for the frontman.

Meanwhile, Swansea have made Sam Surridge their sixth signing of the summer.

The 21-year-old striker had a medical at the club's Fairwood training base on Tuesday and has completed a season-long loan move from Bournemouth.

He follows Jake Bidwell, Ben Wilmot, Freddie Woodman, Kristoffer Peterson and Aldo Kalulu in making the move to the Liberty Stadium this summer.

But one man who appears unlikely to be linking up with Steve Cooper is Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah.

A host of Championship clubs have been linked with the forward, including Bristol City and Leeds United.

And Swansea now appear destined to miss out on the 20-year-old having made the capture of Surridge plus other attackers in recent days.

Elsewhere, The Sun claim Swansea have submitted a £2.5m bid for Burnley forward Nakhi Wells.

The 29-year-old has just entered the final year of his contract with the Clarets, and it's claimed that Sean Dyche's side would want closer to £5m for the Bermuda international.
