Swansea City striker joins Accrington Stanley on loan

Courtney Baker-Richardson has joined Accrington Stanley on a season-long loan deal.

The striker signed a new contract during the 2018/19 season, a campaign in which the frontman netted four goals in all competitions under Graham Potter.

His current deal is set to run out next summer.

But he has been sent to the North West of England to spend the season with League One outfit Accrington Stanley, meaning he may well have played his final game for the Swans.

Baker-Richardson joined the club from Leamington Spa and made his Swansea debut in the 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace 12 months ago.

However, he was shown a straight red card just five minutes into his league bow at Millwall in September before netting his first goal for the club on his return from suspension against Queens Park Rangers.

His departure leaves Steve Cooper with Borja Baston, Andre Ayew and Sam Surridge as out-and-out striker options while new recruits Aldo Kalulu and Kristoffer Peterson can also fill that role.
