Swansea City star reveals what was said in triumphant post-Cardiff City win huddle as staff and players unite

Swansea City's match winner Ben Wilmot has revealed what was said in the post-match huddle at Liberty Stadium after their 1-0 win over Cardiff City.

Wilmot, who was only making his first league start on loan from Watford, headed home a cleverly-worked corner after 27 minutes to earn the bragging rights in south Wales.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the 19-year-old revealed what the side - including the club staff- discussed as they gathered together on the Liberty Stadium pitch.

He explained: "It was just about how well we have done leading up to this game. And how well we have done in that game, showing heart, grit and desire to just push through.

"To hold a one-goal lead over them for the best part of an hour was not easy. It was just a big well done and to carry that through for the rest of the season.

The goal was Wilmot's first for the club and he admits that it was a dream come true to score in the derby.

He added: "I've thought about it all week and for it to actually happen I couldn't believe it.

"There's no better time and it was important we beat them today. It was all about pride and it didn't matter who got the goal as long as we got one more than them. Everyone is over the moon with that."
