Swansea City have completed the loan signing of Chelsea defender Marc Guehi.
The 19-year-old becomes Swansea's second loan capture of the week, with Guehi following in the footsteps of Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster in moving to South Wales on a temporary basis. He is available for the South Wales derby against Cardiff on Sunday.
The Swansea head coach had been keen to bolster his defensive options, with Joe Rodon sidelined due to an ankle injury while Mike van der Hoorn has also suffered problems of late.
And Guehi's arrival means the Swans now have a total of five players in on loan, which is the maximum number permitted to be included in any given matchday squad.
Guehi will spend the remainder of the campaign at the Liberty Stadium, while it is understood the transfer agreement also includes the option for his loan to be extended by a further year.
As with Brewster, Guehi is a player Steve Cooper knows only too well having worked with the versatile defender during his time as manager of England's Under-17s.
Guehi captained England's youth side under Cooper at the 2017 European Under-17 Championship and scored in the Under-17 World Cup final triumph over Spain in the same year.
The Ivory Coast born defender has represented England all the way through the age grades up to Under-21s level.
Guehi - who can play at the heart of the defence or at full-back - is in contention to feature in Sunday's South Wales derby clash with Cardiff City.
He is described as a "committed defender with a good attitude" on Chelsea's official website.
