Trevor Birch says Swansea City's American owners have not tasked him with selling the club.
The 61-year-old replaced Huw Jenkins as chairman at the tail end of the 2018/19 season and was charged with taking control of the day-to-day running of the club.
He has overseen all key aspects of club operations during his tenure so far, from helping to select Steve Cooper as head coach to forming the transfer panel which includes Leon Britton in his sporting director role.
And when asked by a supporter at the Swans' latest fans' forum if his prime aim was to find a buyer for the club, Birch stated that he planned to be at Swansea "indefinitely", adding that Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien have given him full control of day-to-day operations at the Liberty Stadium.
"I haven't been brought in to sell the club. As far as I'm concerned I'm here indefinitely so we can knock that one on the head," he said.
"In terms of their intentions, I don't think there's anybody out there in any event who would want to buy the club at the moment, so that's a bit of a non-starter.
"The reason they brought me in was to give me full operating responsibility to run the club, I don't have any interference from them whatsoever, I wouldn't have taken the job if that was the case.
"In the long-term future of the club, it's about what we can achieve, how we can put the structure in place, bringing the club back to its community. It's very important to me.
"There's nobody out there queuing up to buy football clubs."
