Swansea City’s transfer plans just received a major boost as striker set for Crystal Palace move

Swansea City forward Jordan Ayew is reportedly close to a move to Crystal Palace.

The Swans are keen to get Ayew off the wage bill - along with his brother Andre and Spanish striker Borja Baston.

Their wages are potentially "crippling" the Swans,  according to chairman Trevor Birch  who has made no secret of the need to shift the pair off the books as swiftly as possible.

It appears that the Eagles have agreed a deal of £2.5 million plus add-ons for the Ghana international - having had Ayew on loan at Selhurst Park last season.

Guardian writer Stuart James has tweeted that the Premier League are set to complete a deal for the 27-year-old once he is back from the African Cup of Nations.

He adds that the deal isn't signed and sealed yet, but is only a matter of time.

Ayew has been in fine form for Ghana in the African Cup of Nations - scoring twice and being named in the team of the group stage.
