Swansea City's Steve Cooper addresses Crystal Palace links as he receives double injury boost ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Steve Cooper has dismissed talk linking him with a potential summer move with Crystal Palace, and insists his only concern is keeping Swansea City's promotion hopes burning bright.

Reports in the national media have recently suggested that Cooper could well be the man the Eagles turn to when Roy Hodgson's contract runs out in the summer.

Swansea's charge for automatic promotion this season means Cooper's stock has understandably been steadily rising this term.

Co-owner Jason Levien recently admitted that the club were ready to explore the possibility of opening talks over a new deal, presumably in a bid to ward off any potential interest from rivals higher up the footballing food chain.

However, Cooper insists neither scenario is currently on his radar.

"All of that’s irrelevant," he said.

"Not even worth talking about. We’re in this mad schedule and the only thing I’m focused on is the team and the collective, preparing for the next game.

"There are no sideshows and certainly nothing to talk about. The important thing is we stick together and carry on with our work.

"The training ground today has been excellent. The boys regrouped after the called-off game (against Sheffield Wednesday). No-one was asking for time off.

"We know we had to get that extra work done on the weekend. We're all in that bubble and there isn't room to talk about anything else apart from committing to what's right in front of us.

"We’re focused on what’s in front of us, and I’m no different."

Yan Dhanda and Korey Smith were among those to be put through their paces ahead of Wednesday's visit of Nottingham Forest, and are both now in contention for a return following their respective injury concerns.

Dhanda was withdrawn late on in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester City last week with a knee niggle, while a setback at Fairwood meant Smith was sidelined completely.

However, both could now line up against the Reds.

"Yan is OK," Cooper added. "Obviously he came off late during the Man City game and needed a couple of days because of a twinge in his knee.

"Fortunately, he's recovered quite well. Korey's training as well. So finger's crossed he's back with us now and available for games.

"Korey's a really positive influence. On and off the pitch. He's a bubbly personality. You see it in the way he plays as well. Very much wants to be involved in everything. So it's good having him around again.

"He was very visible anyway even when he wasn't available. Matchdays, he was still with the lads in the dressing room. Likewise on the training ground. Obviously he's done well for us this year and we'd rather him be available than not."

Meanwhile, long-term absentees Liam Cullen, Wayne Routledge, Steven Benda, Brandon Cooper and Tivonge Rushesha all remain some way off first-team contention.
