Swansea City's pre-season fixture against Swindon cancelled

Swansea City have confirmed that their pre-season friendly against Swindon this weekend has been cancelled.

Scheduled for Saturday, the tie now won't go ahead due to "ongoing logistical and operational issues at the League Two club".

Swansea hope to confirm a new opposition for this weekend, with the clash at the County Ground set to be their first of a busy pre-season campaign.

Plymouth Argyle are the next scheduled opponents, on Tuesday, July 20 (7pm), before they face Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday, July 24 (3pm).

The Swans then meet Forest Green at the New Lawn on Wednesday, July 28 (7pm) before rounding off preparations with a home clash against Southampton at the Liberty on Saturday, July 31 (3pm).

Head coach Steve Cooper put his squad through their paces at a camp at Pennyhill Park in Surrey last week, but they have now returned to Fairwood to continue their preparations for the 2021-22 campaign.

Swans start the season at Ewood Park against Blackburn on August 7.
