Swansea City's former record signing now linked with move to Spanish second division

Borja Baston is a target for Spanish second division side Real Zaragoza.

The Swansea City man, who signed for the club in a record £15.5million deal in 2016 has spent the past two seasons on loan in Spain.

His spell with Swansea was disappointing to say the least, with the 26-year-old scoring just once - in a 3-2 defeat at Arsenal - for the South Wales outfit.

He was subsequently sent to Malaga, where he returned two goals for them, and last term scored five goals while representing Alaves.

AS now state he wants out of Swansea this summer, despite having a year left on his current deal.

Zaragoza, who are in the Spanish Segunda Division, currently have former Swans loan man Alvaro Vazquez up front, but they want Baston to return to the club after he spent a successful loan spell with them during the 2014-15 campaign.

He netted 22 goals for them while on loan from parent club Atletico Madrid, but his career has meandered off course since then.

Baston is Zaragoza's 'main objective’ this summer but he would a prefer a move to the top flight of Spanish football.

Swansea are openly keen to get the striker off the wage bill in Landore but will hope to recoup some sort of fee for him.
