Swansea City reveal Barrie McKay stance as ex-Rangers and Nottingham Forest man linked with QPR move

Swansea City say they have received no calls at all over winger Barrie McKay.

The Daily Record have reported that the Scot is a transfer target for Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers.

Rs boss Mark Warburton has already signed three players who featured under him during his time as Rangers manager since taking charge at Loftus Road.

But the Swans insist they have not received any approaches for the 24-year-old.

The winger endured a frustrating season at the Liberty last term. After a bright start the former Nottingham Forest man faded, and despite a stunning winner at Bolton he failed to hit the heights of his early-season form.

The ex-Rangers man was not helped by the fact his favoured position was the one occupied by Bersant Celina, one of Swansea's standout performers under Graham Potter.

A move to Loftus Road would see McKay link up with his old Rangers boss Warburton who has raided the Ibrox club in recent weeks, with Liam Kelly, Lee Wallace and Dominic Ball all heading to west London since the conclusion of the 2018/19 campaign.

McKay, 24, has failed to stamp his authority on the teamsheet in South Wales but with a clean slate now under new head coach Steve Cooper, his fortunes could change.

He did register a significant number of assists last term while he netted against Bolton, Gillingham and Rotherham United.
