Swansea City set to seal loan move for Bournemouth striker and ex-Sunderland target Sam Surridge

Swansea City are close to tying up a loan move for Bournemouth striker Sam Surridge.

The Swans are keen to get another striker on board before the close of the summer window on Thursday, having already sealed a deal for Basel forward Aldo Kalulu.

And WalesOnline understands that a deal for Surridge could be completed in the next 24 hours.

It's believed there has been a fair amount of competition for the 21-year-old, who spent the first half of last season on loan at Oldham Athletic, where he netted eight goals in 15 league appearances, but Swansea have seemingly emerged at the head of the queue for his signature.

Surridge looked set to join Sunderland on loan on the final day of the January window, but was convinced to stay and fight for his place by Cherries boss Eddie Howe, and remains highly rated by club insiders.

It remains to be seen what effect the signing of Surridge will have on City's interest in Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah , with the Swans growing increasingly pessimistic about their chances of getting a deal done in the face of intense competition.
