Pundit blasts lacklustre defending
Swansea failed to do the basics right when it came to their defensive display against Reading, according to Ian Holloway.
The Swans shipped three soft goals - two of which came a minute after the hosts netted themselves - as their eight-game unbeaten run at home in all competitions was ended.
And TV pundit Holloway says Russell Martin's men were guilty of switching off after Jamie Paterson and Ryan Manning's goals on Saturday.
"You should be talking about winning the ball back from them and doing something with it to keep your lead, " he said on EFL on Quest.
"You've got to get the basics of the game right. The concentration is terrible.
"They're not even defending correctly. Not one of them has pressed the ball. Not one of them is doing their job because they're still in the last moment, you can't be like that."
Defeat to Reading was only Swansea's second home loss in the Championship this term - with Stoke City taking all three points in the meeting between the sides in August.
Cooper's Swans aim after contract extension
Brandon Cooper admits he favours the central slot in Swansea's back three as he bids to force his way into Russell Martin's plans after signing a new contract with the club.
The Welshman recently put pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain with the Swans until the summer of 2024 - with the club having the option to extend that contract by 12 months.
Cooper made seven appearances in all competitions during the early stages of the current campaign, although he has not featured since the 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Brighton on September 22.
But having signed fresh terms with the side he joined at the age of six, Cooper says he is aiming to learn more from Swansea's senior players to aid his bid of becoming a first team regular.
“I am delighted and grateful for the faith the club have shown in me,” said the Wales Under-21 international.
“It allows me to relax and just focus on getting better without looking over my shoulder, I need to keep improving and try and get a few more games under my belt.
“I have been here a long time, this club has been my life and every chance I get I do my best and I hope I can work hard and get another run of games.
“There is a lot of competition and you have to take the chance to perform when you get it.
“Learning from the senior players like Naughts and Benno is great for the younger players, and seeing how they play the game in this system.
“You try and take bits from what they do and hope it can help you improve. I have played across all three parts of that back three, I like the middle slot and you can see how great Naughts is at it, and I would be happy if I can be as good at it as he has been.”

Ladies maintain sensational form
Swansea City Ladies maintained their flawless start to the 2021/22 campaign by beating Port Talbot Town Ladies 2-0 at Victoria Road.
Chloe Chivers struck in either half as Chris Church's side gained their 11th league victory of the season to sit six points clear of both Cardiff Met and Cardiff City.
The triumph also means the Swans remain unbeaten in league action for more than three years.
Church's outfit return to action against Aberystwyth Town on Sunday, December 5.
