'Swansea City game is massive' - Bristol City fans react after 'ugly, scrappy, dirty' win at Stoke City

It wasn't pretty all the time but, boy, was it effective as Bristol City further emphasised their ability on the road with a 2-1 victory over Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium.

Lee Johnson and his team just keep finding ways to win football matches, whatever the circumstances with their resilience as impressive an aspect of their play as anything else.

Now in third, level on points with second-placed Charlton, next on the agenda for City is the visit of table-topping Swansea with the very real possibility Lee Johnson's team could lead the division this time next Saturday.

But that's a debate for a different day as the travelling Robins support revelled in triumph secured by Famara Diedhiou and a Thomas Edwards own goals and in terms of Joe Allen's early red card.

City will play much better this season and may not receive the same rewards but maybe that made it that extra sweeter with a real smash-and-grab raid on a Stoke side expected to compete for promotion but cemented at the foot of the table.
