Swansea City, Derby County and Millwall eye ex-Cardiff City striker - reports

Swansea City are reportedly among a clutch of Championship clubs interested in signing former Cardiff City striker Cameron Jerome.

The forward rose to prominence with the Bluebirds at the start of his career 15 years ago, but he now plays for Turkish club Goztepe, where his contract is due to run out this summer.

Turkish outlet A Spor claim the club, who play in the Super Lig, will not be offering 33-year-old Jerome a new deal and the player is seeking a move back to the UK this summer.

Championship rivals Millwall and Derby County, from whom he made the switch to Turkey back in 2018 following a brief stint there, are set to battle it out with the Swans for his signature this summer.

Owing to the striker coming to the end of his contract, Jerome, whose record in Turkey reads three goals from 14 games, would be available as a free transfer.

Jerome was a hit in the Welsh capital, scoring 23 goals in 74 league games for the Bluebirds as a youngster before moving on to Birmingham City, where he would eventually play Premier League football, for a fee of up to £4million.

The Englishman enjoyed three seasons in the Premier League with Stoke City and Crystal Palace before moving to Norwich City, where he played a crucial part in firing them into the top flight back in 2014-15, scoring 21 league goals in the process.

After four seasons at Carrow Road, he made the brief switch to Derby County before heading off to Turkey.
