Swansea City dealt transfer blow as Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer poised for Bristol City switch

Swansea City target Kasey Palmer is set to join Bristol City from Chelsea.

The youngster was firmly on the Swans' radar this summer and his addition would have been viewed as something of an exciting coup.

But the 22-year-old is currently undergoing a medical with the Robins ahead of a switch to Ashton Gate.

Palmer made a combined total of 34 appearances in all competitions during his loan spells with Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers during the 2018/19 campaign.

Swansea have already added Jake Bidwell and Ben Wilmot to their ranks since the arrival of new boss Steve Cooper.

And they are set to make Sweden international Kristoffer Peterson their third signing of the summer having agreed a deal worth £500,000 with the versatile winger's club Heracles.

With Oli McBurnie set to join Sheffield United, Swansea are keen to bring in a replacement for the striker before the August 8 transfer deadline while they are also hoping to further strengthen ahead of Cooper's debut season at the Liberty Stadium.
