Swansea City consider Chelsea loan swoop for ex-Bristol City, Derby and Blackburn man - reports

Swansea City are being linked with a loan move for Chelsea's Kasey Palmer.

Sky Sports are reporting that Steve Cooper's side are considering a swoop for the 22-year-old.

The attacking midfielder was included in Frank Lampard's squad that headed to Ireland for their pre-season schedule this week.

He has yet to make his competitive first-team debut for the Blues but has got game-time under his belt during various loan stints away from Stamford Bridge.

He had two spells with Huddersfield Town, followed by half a season at Derby County.

Last term he spent the first half of the campaign with Blackburn Rovers, before moving to Bristol City for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.

He has been capped at under-17, under-18, under-20 and under-21 level with England and is under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2021.

It would be a move that makes sense for Swansea, with chairman Trevor Birch this week revealing that the club would be targeting free transfers and loans this summer.

"It would be loans and frees, that's the market we're looking at," he said.

"If it's a small transfer fee then possibly, but that's where we are. That's our current financial position."
