Swansea City confident of winning race for Liverpool striker linked with Bristol City, Leeds United and Aston Villa

Swansea City are said to be confident of winning the race for Rhian Brewster.

The Liverpool youngster is set to go out on loan in January in order to continue his development, having seen game time limited at Anfield this season.

Bristol City are one of a number of clubs to have been linked with the striker, with the Robins keen to bolster their attack in January.

Yet City face plenty of competition for his signature, with Swansea, Leeds United and Aston Villa all also said to be keeping tabs on the 19-year-old.

The Daily Mail now report that Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic and QPR are also interested in Brewster, but that the Swans are confident of securing his signature.

Swans boss Steve Cooper knows Brewster well, having managed him in the 2017 under-17s World Cup, which saw England win the title and the striker scoop the Golden Boot.

The Swans are confident that this previous link to Brewster, along with the fact they will guarantee Brewster gets regular first-team football.

Bristol City know Liverpool's loan policy well, having previously been fined by the Reds for failing to play Ryan Kent enough two seasons ago during his temporary stay at Ashton Gate from Anfield.
