Swansea City complete signing of ex-Liverpool winger Kristoffer Peterson from Dutch side Heracles

Swansea City have completed the signing of winger Kristoffer Peterson from Heracles.

The Swans agreed terms with the Dutch club over a swoop for the 24-year-old earlier this week, with Steve Cooper's side set to fork out in the region of £650,000 for his services in a deal that could be worth up to £1m once add-ons are included.

Peterson underwent a medical at the club's Fairwood training base on Thursday.

And the club have officially confirmed that the Sweden international is a Swansea player, with Peterson signing a three-year contract at SA1, with the option of an additional year.

"We’re excited about it, he’s a player I know from my role with Liverpool," said Cooper.

"It’s been a while since he was there and he was brave to leave and carve a career for himself which I’ve followed from afar. All of the reports have come back positive and here he is for a second spell with me and Mike Marsh and a second spell in the UK aswell."

Peterson left Liverpool in 2014 having failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Reds, joining Utrecht via a loan spell with Tranmere Rovers.

He had three years with the Dutch outfit before signing for Heracles after a brief loan stint with Roda JC.

Peterson netted 12 times in 33 Eredivisie appearances for Heracles during the course of the 2018/19 campaign.
