Swansea City complete £1m Joel Piroe signing from PSV Eindhoven as contract length confirmed

Swansea City have completed the signing of Joel Piroe from PSV Eindhoven.

The Swans have been determined to bolster their forward options having lost Wayne Routledge to injury while talisman Andre Ayew has been released.

They have already recruited Kyle Joseph on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic.

And, on Friday, they formally announced Piroe as a Swansea player.

The 21-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Swans and joins for a fee worth in the region of £1m.

Piroe will meet up with his new team-mates following their pre-season camp in Pennyhill Park next week.

In a video posted on the club's official Twitter account, Piroe said: "Hello Swansea fans. I have just signed my contract.

"I will be joining you soon and I hope we can do great things this season. I can't wait to see you all."

The Netherlands Under-20 international's preferred position is as a number nine although he is capable of operating out wide. You can read more on that here.

Piroe netted once in eight Eredivisie appearances for PSV last season, although his total game time in the league amounted to just 80 minutes.

He also bagged a brace in his former club's 4-0 Europa League triumph over Omonia Nicosia last term.

Swansea kick-start their pre-season campaign at Fairwood this weekend.

The summer transfer window closes at 11pm on Tuesday, August 31.
