Swansea City boss gives transfer update in chase for Liverpool striker linked with Bristol City and Leeds United

Swansea City boss Steve Cooper has played down talk of an official approach to Liverpool for Rhian Brewster.

The Swans are one of a number of clubs keen to take Brewster on loan for the second half of the season, but face competition from Bristol City and Leeds United among others.

Yet the South Wales side are said to be leading contenders for his signature, thanks to Cooper's previous links with Brewster.

However, the Swansea boss says nothing is guaranteed and that his focus is on the players he currently has at his disposal.

"There isn't anything concrete in terms of news," he said to Wales Online. "It's difficult in January because there's loads of movement anywhere.

"We don't want to panic in bringing someone in just for the sake of it because we've lost one."

When pressed on Brewster specifically, Cooper added: "It's all still hypothetical.

"Without sounding too diplomatic or swerving the question, my priority is the boys in the building.

"I think that's common courtesy and respect more than anything, because they give everything, day in, day out."
