Swansea City and Nottingham Forest have reportedly made offers for Almeria centre-back Mathieu Peybernes, but look set to be disappointed as the player is holding out for a move to La Liga.
According to Marca, both the Swans and Forest have put offers "firmly on the table" for the 29-year old, but face stern competition from Getafe.
The player himself is believed to prefer the chance to stay in Spain, and has reportedly been waiting for the last few weeks for a move to be completed.
The 29-year old has struggled for game time since arriving at Almeria last summer, and spent the season on loan at La Liga 2 side Lugo.
The nature of the offers from Forest and the Swans isn't clear at this stage, but Getafe's interest is believed to stretch back to April.
The Swans are likely to be on the look out for experienced centre-back options this summer having lost Mike van der Hoorn earlier in the window.
The likes of Marc Guehi, Ben Cabango and Joe Rodon have all shown they are more than capable of dealing with the demands of first team football, but boss Steve Cooper may well feel that the addition of an experienced head will help to further aid their development.
However, the noises from Spain suggest the club may well have to look elsewhere.
