Swansea City among clutch of clubs to approach Man City over Joel Latibeaudiere deal

Swansea City have contacted Man City over a potential deal for Joel Latibeaudiere.

The Swans have been keen to bolster their defensive options having seen Mike van der Hoorn and Ben Wilmot leave the club in the summer.

They have already re-signed Marc Guehi on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea, but they are in need of more cover to cope with the demands of what promises to be a gruelling Championship campaign.

And Swansea have approached Pep Guardiola's men over a possible deal for defender Latibeaudiere.

The Telegraph report that the move would be a loan, although sources have told WalesOnline that the Citizens are willing to offload the central defender on a permanent basis for nothing, although a deal would include a sizeable future sell-on clause.

The 20-year-old centre-back was part of the England side that won the Under-17s World Cup under Steve Cooper in India three years ago.

The Doncaster-born defender is attracting interest from a number of other clubs, with Bournemouth and Luton Town among those also monitoring his situation.

Latibeaudiere - who was on loan with Dutch outfit Twente last season - still has one year left to run on his current contract with Man City.
