Swansea City ace linked with £10m move to Bundesliga club - reports

German Bundelisga side Cologne could make a last-gasp transfer swoop for Swansea City matchwinner Mike van der Hoorn, according to reports.

The Dutch defender was on target as the Swans started in dream fashion under Steve Cooper by coming from behind to beat Hull City 2-1 in their opening Championship fixture.

Van der Hoorn began pre-season as favourite to get the captaincy, having led Swansea in Leroy Fer's absence for much of last term. But Cooper chose Matt Grimes, who was Swansea's player of the year in 2018-19.

Van der Hoorn has been continually linked with a move away from the Liberty this summer and the Sun claim Cologne are coveting the former Netherlands U21 player.

However, they report Cologne may be put off by the £10m price tag slapped on the 26-year-old by the Swans.

Boss Cooper has also been linked with making a move for Birmingham City striker Isaac Vassell before the summer transfer window slams shut at 5pm on Thursday.

The Championship club have a striker spot to fill following the £17m departure of Oli McBurnie to Premier League newcomers Sheffield United.

And Birmingham are looking to offload Vassell for around the £3m mark to help raise funds for a new striker themselves.
