Swansea City manager Steve Cooper has said that Nottingham Forest’s squad is ‘as strong as anybody’s’ in the Championship this season, and is expecting a tough test despite the two teams’ league position.
The Reds have fallen to 2-0 defeats in their last two league games and will be looking to turn their form around when Swansea City visit the City Ground in Sunday’s early kick-off.
Forest had a busy summer transfer window, bringing in a total of 14 new players, including Harry Arter, Scott McKenna and Anthony Knockaert. However, a poor start to the season sees them currently lie in 20th position in the table.
In contrast, Swansea are currently in fourth place, just four points adrift of Norwich in first as they look to challenge for promotion this season.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Cooper is aware of the challenges when his team visits Forest.
"You look at Forest’s squad, and if you take away the teams that have come down who naturally have strong squads because they've been Premier League squads, they’ve got as strong a squad as anybody," He said, as reported by WalesOnline.
"That’s the team we’re playing and planning to play. A really tough game away from home and one we have to be more than ready for, and we will be.
"We feel like we’re in good shape and we feel like we’re doing good things. These are the types of games you have to show real self belief and confidence to get the right performance and result.
"Chris is a really experienced manager who has been there and done it more than once, so we’ve got to be ready, but we will be."
