Swann Menswear in Long Eaton has been sold - and this is what it will become

An old-fashioned menswear shop in Long Eaton which closed after 111 years has been sold.

Swann Menswear in the Market Place last September following the death of third generation owner Harold, who was still actively involved in the business until he passed away at the age of 83.

With his widow Jackie knowing little about the menswear trade and none of their children keen to take it on, she made the heartbreaking decision to put the shop on the market.

The property is set to reopen as a food and drink store and will be called Ace Market.

Owner Saied Ghorbannajad has applied to Erewash Borough Council for a premises licence to sell alcohol in the shop.

He said: "We are going to supply English, Brazilian and Eastern European food and alcohol."

The shop would be open seven days a week from 9am to 11pm.
