Police in Bexley said the bird was found on Monday at Southmere Lake with a gunshot wound to the head on Monday.
The swan was recovered under the foot bridge near Bazalgette Way SE2.

Met Wildlife crime unit urged Londoners who may have any more information to come forward.
The team have now made an appeal on social media on Wednesday.
Hopefully karma will catch up at some point with the worthless little bunch of losers who do this to wildlife in the area 😒

The discovery was condemned by animal lovers on social media, with one person saying it was “heartbreaking” and another describing it as “so sad”.
