BHOPAL:Whenever you visit the Bhopal railway station these days, you find a distinctive change in its cleanliness.
All this has been made possible due to the regular Swacchta drive initiated at the station. No wonder, passengers have given their thumbs up to the rail staff efforts. During the Swachhta fortnight celebrated in Bhopal division, all the departments took the pledge of cleanliness and worked in harmony to ensure cleanliness on the station premises and train coaches through various activities.
Senior divisional commercial manager Vijay Prakash said that during the cleanliness drive conducted at Bhopal station, the station premises, platforms, concourse area, circulating area, FOB, railway track, yard area, toilets were cleaned properly. “The garbage was collected and disposed of at a proper place. Passengers were urged to put the waste at the station in the designated dust bin, stop use of plastic items and maintain cleanliness at the station. Awareness was also created about cleanliness by broadcasting messages related to cleanliness s through an announcement system at the station,” said senior DCM Prakash.
DRM Bhopal Saurabh Bandopadhyay along with other officials participated in the intensive cleanliness drive on the station premises by urging passengers to stop using plastic items by distributing cloth bags. “Bhopal station complex is now clean because of the work done by the divisional railway administration and the cooperation of the passengers. There is a pleasant feeling of a clean environment all around,” said DRM Bandopadhyay.
He said that Bhopal division is determined to provide safe, secure and smooth rail operations, besides clean, beautiful and pleasant atmosphere on the station premises and trains for railway passengers. Passengers said that the railway has managed to keep up the cleanliness to a great extent at the Bhopal station. “This is a great effort. I was surprised when I was boarding the train in the night and the cleanliness staff are honestly putting their efforts to keep the station clean. Such efforts are praiseworthy,” said Umesh Kant Sahay, a passenger.
