Sven Mislintat sets out strict demands after being offered technical director role

Sven Mislintat could be set for a move to Italy.

Arsenal's former head of recruitment has been out of work since leaving north London in February.

But that spell of unemployment could now be about to come to and end, with reports in Italy suggesting Roma are pushing hard to appoint the German as the club's new technical director.

Roma are looking for a replacement for Monchi, their former technical director who left the club in early March following the Serie A side's Champions League exit.

Monchi had looked set to move to Arsenal , only for the Spaniard to turn down a technical director role at the Emirates in favour of a return to former club Sevilla.

And now it appears that his now vacant position at Roma could be filled by Mislintat, who is said to be in talks over a switch to the Italian capital.

According to Il Romanista , Roma president James Pallotta has offered Mislintat and lucrative contract and is set to fly to Germany to try and close out the deal.

And Gazzetta dello Sport add that Mislintat is open to the offer, but that he has set out a number of conditions during negotiations, including the guarantee that he will be given freedom over transfers.

It is reported in Italy that he wants that guarantee because of the bad experience he suffered at Arsenal when his ideas were overruled by head of football, Raul Sanllehi.
